SUMMARY:PoWeR! Book Bags Sunset Soiree at Shady Lane Cellars
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, Oct. 3\, Shady Lane Cellars will again host the annual PoWeR! Book Bags Sunset Soiree. The event is raising funds to purchase new books\, writing materials and play materials for children throughout northern Lower Michigan. \nPoWeR! — which stands for Play\, Write and Read — was founded by Kara Gregory in 2016 to strengthen children’s language\, literacy\, and human interaction from an early age. It has helped put books and literacy materials into the hands of more than 20\,000 children in its 10 years of operation. Today\, the organization relies on hundreds of multigenerational volunteers to carry out that mission. \nEvery dollar raised through the Sunset Soiree goes directly toward materials for children.
